When we got our bikes, Drew came to our home and we both had a bike fit to get us set up correctly from the outset.
After building our confidence on the roads over the period of a few months, we contacted Drew again and asked him to supply us with clip-less pedals, which he came and fitted to our bikes. The feeling of being more connected to the bike is great, and I’m certain will make a difference to our performance.
From the outset I had been experiencing some issues with my “undercarriage” and again sought some advice from Drew, who suggested a few alterations to my saddle position. However, after several adjustments, it became obvious that the saddle provided with my bike was not going to suit my anatomy. I did a bit of research and found some other women with the same issue as myself, and purchased a saddle that had worked for them. At first, all was great, my original soft tissue problem had been resolved, much to my relief. However, after several weeks of happy cycling, a new issue developed. I made some adjustments, then some more, and still couldn’t find the right position. When Drew was fitting us for pedals, we spoke again about the “new” saddle issues. I now know that the replacement saddle is still not the ideal one for me, however, Drew adjusted the position, and after an 83km cycle the following day, I only had minor discomfort and was able to enjoy the ride so much more.
